Product Overview

Working in offshore environments requires meticulous attention to detail in rigorous circumstances. The Mil-tek A406 eliminates the headache of offshore waste management by compacting and baling all cardboard or plastic waste.

Despite having a floorspace footprint of just 1 m2, the Mil-tek A406 Is capable of making bales upwards 225 kg.

Featuring a deep pressing chamber and a wider door opening than the A205, the A406 is ideal for large scale rigs that handle large volumes of cardboard and plastic packaging waste. The compaction ensure waste and excess packaging is neatly stored with minimal fuss and minimum floor space used. Bales from a A406 fit neatly onto a standard Euro pallet, making them easy to store and transport.

In addition to powerful compaction technology, the A406 has had several unique modifications to it that enhance the safety features. Powered exclusively by compressed air, it contains no inherent risk of hydraulic or electrical fault. The machine also has no interacting metal pieces that could cause a spark; an important deterrent in high-risk environments like oil or gas platforms.

The A306 features an automated bale-out function that allows users to simply, safely and quickly empty the baler.

How does a baler work?

Q&A

What’s the difference between a 306 and a A406?
The 306-O has been specifically modified for offshore environments. Modified cylinders eliminate the risk of spark or inflammation The machine also features a custom 2-handed mechanism to return the pressing plate that ensures the operator cannot endanger themselves during the bale out process.

What fire hazards does the A406 contain?
None; the machine is free of electrical components and hydraulic oil. There are no springs or moving parts that could cause spark, and the pressing plate has been partially covered with a thin latex foam, to prevent any friction or heat build up against the chamber wall.

Can the A406 be installed outdoors?
Yes it can. The machine is free of electrical components and can installed in outdoor conditions. If you intend to install a machine outdoors, we recommend you speak to one of our consultants about rust-free and stainless options.

How noisy is the A406?
Pneumatic machines are extremely quiet (less than 70 ). By not requiring hydraulic motors or electrical components, pneumatic machines like the A406 can operate in working environments without interrupting a normal conversation.

COMMERCIAL SHIPPING

A strategically placed A406 on a commercial ship will ensure the crew continue to operate under lean principles: minimize waste, maximize available space.

A A406 can be combined with a stainless steel compactor like the XP200S to create an effective offshore waste management solution.

OFFSHORE PLATFORMS

The A406 is specifically modified to operate on offshore platforms. For environments where safety is paramount and space is minimal, a waste reducing baler like the A406 is an ideal addition.

The small floorspace footprint and added safety features ensure that the A406 brings no inherent risk to the platform crew.

CRUISE SHIPS

Busy cruise ships can have hundreds of crew members and thousands of guests. A Mil-tek A406 will minimize the waste packaging created in feeding and housing all of these people.

In baling and compacting waste, cruise ships create an effective solution to offshore waste management and reduce their overall carbon footprint.
